“Career Roadmap: Turning Academic Knowledge into Professional Growth”


A seminar titled “Career Roadmap: Turning Academic Knowledge into Professional Growth” was organized by the School of BusinessAhsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST) on Tuesday, 16th September 2025, at 3:00 PM. The event took place at the Prof. Dr. M. H. Khan Auditorium.

The seminar aimed to guide students in transforming their academic learning into successful professional careers. It featured prominent academicians, industry leaders, and experts who shared their insights and experiences on career development and professional growth.

The seminar commenced at 3:00 PM with a welcome speech by Professor Dr. Wahiduzzaman Khan, Head of the School of Business, AUST. This was followed by a speech from the Chief Guest, Professor Dr. Md. Ashraful Hoque, Honorable Vice-Chancellor of AUST, who emphasized the importance of aligning academic knowledge with practical industry needs. At 3:20 PMMr. Masud Khan, Chairman of Unilever Consumer Care Limited, delivered a speech highlighting leadership and corporate career strategies. Subsequently, Mr. Monjur Mohammad Shahriar, Project Director of the Digital Entrepreneurship and Innovation Eco-System Development Project at BHTPA, ICT Division, Ministry of Post, Telecommunication and Information Technology, shared valuable insights into innovation and entrepreneurship. At 3:50 PMMr. Md. Siddiqur Rahman, Project Management Specialist and former Additional Secretary of The World Bank, discussed project management skills essential for career success. This was followed by Professor Dr. S. M. Shafiul Alam, Dean, Faculty of Business and Social Sciences, AUST, who spoke on the integration of business education with practical skills. At 4:15 PMMr. G. M. Kamrul Hassan, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Akij InfoTech and Akij BPL, discussed leadership challenges in the telecommunications and technology sectors. Next, Ms. Nusrat Tammana, Head of Customer Services at Avery Dennison Bangladesh Limited and Acting Vice President of the AUST Business Alumni Association, shared her professional journey and career advice with the students.

Following the speeches, certificates were distributed to Class Representatives, Executives, Vice President, and General Secretary. A Prize Giving Ceremony took place afterward, recognizing outstanding contributions. A special appreciation was given to Team Synera for their support in organizing the event. The seminar concluded at 5:10 PM with a closing speech, marking the successful end of an informative and inspiring session.

The seminar provided valuable insights into professional growth, bridging the gap between academic knowledge and real-world application. Students benefited greatly from the experiences and advice shared by distinguished speakers from academia, industry, and government sectors. The event was a significant success and demonstrated AUST’s continued commitment to student development and career readiness.
