12th CONVOCATION

What's New

Office of the Center for Nanotechnology (CN)

It is a huge pride and gratitude that AUST installed a Center of Nanotechnology. This is a significant initiative for AUST as we start a journey of innovation, collaboration, and discovery. The establishment of this Center indicates our collective commitment to pushing the boundaries of scientific understanding and technological improvement. As many of you know, nanotechnology is not just a field of study; it is a transformative force that has the potential to reform industries in many ways (from medicine to energy, electronics to environmental science). It offers us tools to address some of the most demanding challenges of our time-from fighting climate change to proceeding with personalized healthcare.

Our vision of the Center for Nanotechnology is to:

  1. Nurture cutting-edge research: By creating an environment that nurtures curiosity and encourages risk-taking, we hope to make pioneering discoveries that will shape the future.
  2. Build interdisciplinary collaborations: Nanotechnology flourishes at the intersections of physics, chemistry, biology, and engineering. By bringing together experts from different fields, we can unlock solutions that no single discipline could achieve alone.
  3. Educate and inspire: Our Center will serve as a hub for training the next generation of scientists, engineers, and innovators. Through hands-on learning and cutting-edge research opportunities, we will prepare our students to lead in a rapidly growing world.
  4. Engage with society: Science should never exist in isolation. We will actively engage with industry, politicians, and the wider community to ensure your work is relevant and impactful.

As we look to the future, we are reminded of the words of Physicist Richard Feynman, who famously said, “There’s plenty of room at the bottom.” His vision of manipulating matter at the atomic and molecular scale continues to inspire us today. The possibilities before us are vast, but so too are our responsibilities. We must ensure that our advancements are ethical, sustainable, and inclusive.

We would like to take this opportunity to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has made this Center a reality. To the visionary leaders who secured this creation, to the dedicated teams who worked hard behind the scenes, and to the substantial supporters who believed in our mission, we are thankful to them. Your efforts have set this foundation. I am confident it will be an example of excellence in nanotechnology. We extend an open invitation to dream big, think boldly, and work together. To our students, you are the heart of this endeavor, and we are here to empower you to achieve greatness. And to our partners and stakeholders, let us join hands to translate our research into real-world solutions that benefit humanity. Together, let us make the Center for Nanotechnology a catalyst for change, a source of inspiration, and evidence to the power of human imagination. The journey ahead is exciting, and we look forward to walk.
