A three-member accreditation team from the Institute of Architects, Bangladesh (IAB) visited the Department of Architecture at Ahsanullah University of Science & Technology (AUST) for the purpose of accrediting the Undergraduate Program in accordance with the Accreditation Standard of the Institute of Architects Bangladesh (ASIAB). Following the submission of an accreditation report to IAB, the team was dispatched on Monday, May 13, 2024.

The team comprised three distinguished members: one University Grant Commission (UGC) member Mohammad Maksudur Rahman Bhuiyan; an academician, Dr. Nabanita Islam and a professional architect, Ar. Dewan Shamsul Arif. Additionally, the Secretary of Education of the IAB Executive Council, Ar. Dr. Md. Nawrose Fatemi, accompanied the team for the first half of the visit. The Head of the Department, Ar. ABM Mahbubul Malik, along with other senior faculty members, warmly welcomed the accreditation team upon their arrival.

During the day-long visit, the accreditation team engaged in a variety of activities, including discussions with faculty members, students, alumni and other departmental officials. They inspected various physical facilities of the department, such as studios, lecture rooms, lab facilities, faculty offices, the library and other supporting facilities of the university. The team also visited students' work and other academic activities.

The team met with the Honorable Vice Chancellor (In-charge) and Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Mahbubur Rahman, as well as the Registrar, Treasurer and other important officials of AUST. During their interactions with students, faculty, alumni and officials, the accreditation team exchanged views, comments and suggestions for the future development of the program and the department as a whole.

At the conclusion of the visit, the accreditation team expressed their suggestions, feedback and comments to the Head of the Department and other senior faculty members.
