The Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST) community is deeply mourning following the untimely death of Fahim Uddin Bin Ahmed, a meritorious student from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. Fahim tragically lost his life in a road accident on 29 June 2025 in Uttara, Dhaka. According to eyewitnesses, a Dhaka-bound truck carrying stones recklessly struck Fahim and two others, resulting in their instant demise. Fahim had been returning to Khilkhet after visiting a relative at the Kuwait Bangladesh Friendship Government Hospital when the accident occurred.
The sudden passing of Fahim has sent shockwaves through the university. His teachers, classmates, and peers remember him as a bright and dedicated student with immense potential. The loss of such a promising young mind has deeply saddened the AUST community.
In response to the tragedy, on 30 June 2025, students of AUST organized a peaceful protest rally within the university premises and on adjacent roads. Many participants carried placards bearing messages such as “Justice for Fahim,” “Hold Reckless Drivers Accountable,” and “Ensure the Right to Road Safety,” among others. From the rally, they demanded swift justice for their late classmate and accountability for those responsible. The rally witnessed the unified participation of the Vice Chancellor, the Head of the Department of CSE, the Proctor, faculty members from various departments, and other university officials, highlighting the collective grief and solidarity of the AUST family.
AUST strongly urges the concerned authorities to take immediate and decisive steps to identify and prosecute those responsible. Justice delayed is justice denied, and Fahim’s family, friends, and community deserve both justice and closure.
