Orientation Program for newly admitted students for Fall 2024 of AUST held


Prof. Dr. Golam Rahman, Chairman, Board of Trustees (BoT), AUST and President, DAM spoke on the program.

A day-long program for Reception and Orientation of newly admitted students for Fall-2024 Semester was organized at Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology on Monday, 16 June 2025 at M.H. Khan Auditorium.  

Prof. Dr. Golam Rahman, Chairman, Board of Trustees (BoT), AUST and President, Dhaka Ahsania Mission, graced the event as President of the program and addressed the audience. In his speech, he stated, “Education is not just about acquiring knowledge; it is about building character, fostering creativity, and making meaningful contributions to society.” He urged the students to uphold the highest standards of integrity and responsibility in all their endeavors. He also reaffirmed the BoT’s commitment to keeping AUST at the forefront of academic excellence, research, and innovation.

Dr. Muhammad Abdul Mazid, Former Secretary to the Government of Bangladesh and Former Chairman of the National Board of Revenue (NBR) spoke on the program.

Dr. Muhammad Abdul Mazid, Former Secretary to the Government of Bangladesh and Former Chairman of the National Board of Revenue (NBR), and a distinguished Member of the BoT, AUST attended as Chief Guest. He spoke about the life, values, and educational philosophy of Hazrat Khan Bahadur Ahsanullah (R), the founding inspiration of the university.

Prof. Dr. Sharmin Reza Chowdhury, Treasurer, AUST and Prof. Dr. Md. Ashraful Hoque,Vice-Chancellor, AUST also spoke the program.

Prof. Dr. Md. Ashraful Hoque, welcomed the newly enrolled students of AUST and said that Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology is proud to be one of the leading institutions in Bangladesh, renowned for our commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and the holistic development of our students. He emphasized the students to be disciplined and asked not to involve any activities that could hamper the academics activities of the University.

Prof. Dr. Md. Abdul Matin, Dean, Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Farida Nilufar, Dean, Faculty of Architecture, Prof. Dr. S M Shafiul Alam, Dean, Faculty of Business and Social Sciences and Registrar (In-charge), Prof. Dr. Md. Ashrafur Rahman, Proctor, Prof. Dr. Md. Shariful Islam, Asvisor, Students’ welfare spoke on the various issues of rules and regulations as well as guidelines. Academic discipline and extra co-curricular activities of the University were highlighted.

New admitted Students from Architecture, Civil Engineering, Industrial and Production Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Textile Engineering and School of Business expressed their feelings of becoming the members of AUST family. Among others Heads of the Department and offices were also present. The program was conducted by Prattusha Bhattacharjee, Lecturer, Department of Industrial and Production Engineering, AUST. The Proctorial and Students’ Welfare Teams ensured that the orientation program was organized, welcoming, and informative, leaving a positive impression on new students and their families.
