AUST team receives Best Paper Award at IEEE STI 5.0 Conference


A group of recently graduated students from Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology has won the Best Paper of the Conference Award in the “5TH IEEE International Conference on Sustainable Technologies for Industry 5.0 (STI 2023)” held on December 9-10, 2023, The conference was organized by Green University of Bangladesh, Dhaka. This is the only conference in Bangladesh, which is technically co-sponsored by the central IEEE Computer Society, USA. The title of the paper was, “Analysis of Post fault oscillation damping by VSC-HVDC in an offshore wind farm connected system”. The paper was the outcome of the final year design project of the graduated students named Mr. Rawnak Shahriar Nibir, Mr. Md. Shahriar Hossain and Mr. Tanvir Ahmed. It was supervised by Mr. Ata E Rabbi, Assistant Professor, Department of EEE with the guidance of Professor Dr. Tareq Aziz, Head, Department of EEE.

The objective of STI Conference is to establish itself as a leading international conference in the field of industry 4.0 in the near future. The STI-2023 program consisted of three distinct tracks: intelligent computing, network and security systems; energy, robotics, electronics, sensors and communications; and textiles, along with additional applications related to industry 5.0. Each of the three tracks chose three papers to get the "Best Paper" award, and one paper is chosen as the “Best Paper” for the entire conference. The team from AUST received the overall conference “Best Paper” award. Papers that are accepted and presented will be published in the IEEE Xplore Digital Library.

The graduating students were later congratulated by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Fazli Ilahi, Honorable Vice-Chancellor of AUST, in his office at AUST campus on the following day of the presentation.
