Workshop on Soft skill held at AUST


A workshop on Soft skill was held on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, in the Seminar Room of the Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST) organized by IQAC. Chief Guest was Prof. Dr. Md. Sazzad Hossain, Member, University Grants Commission of Bangladesh. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Fazli Ilahi, Vice-Chancellor, AUST was present in the seminar as the Session Chair. Prof. Dr. Md. Mahbubur Rahman, Pro Vice-Chancellor, AUST, Mr. Abul Fatah Md. Baligur Rahman, Project Director, Digital Entrepreneurship and Innovation Eco-System and Mr. Md. Saidur Rahman, Director, e-cab were present as the Special Guests. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Sarwar Morshed, Director, IQAC, AUST delivered introductory speech on soft skill and future ready graduates. Liakat Hossain, CEO-Babylon resources Ltd, Secretary General Amrai Digital Bangladesh Foundation delivered the vote of thanks.

Prof. Dr. Md. Sazzad Hossain, Member, University Grants Commission of Bangladesh spoke on the ways how a student can make himself or herself differentiates from other competitors in the job market. Prof Dr Md. Sazzad Hossain has discussed the visions of the present government and emphasis on the 4th Industrial Revolution and beyond for the development of Smart Bangladesh. Nonetheless he has mentioned the effort of UGC towards online education during the COVID19 pandemic particularly for private universities of Bangladesh. AUST took necessary initiatives during the pandemic to provide online education through Zoom platforms, and its commitments to the students through collaborative approaches.UGC and BdREN was in the forefront of Zoom support systems. Prof Dr. Muhammad Fazli Ilahi,Vice Chancellor has appreciated the supports of UGC and BdREN for faculties and students of AUST. 

Prof. Dr. Muhammad Fazli Ilahi, Vice-Chancellor and Prof. Dr. Mohammed Mahbubur Rahman, Pro Vice-Chancellor, AUST contributed to the discussion by sharing their remarks in the seminar. However, the trainers of the Soft Skill Workshop have conducted a session on soft skills and organized quiz competitions for the students. Deans, Heads, teachers, officers, and students were present at the event.
