A day-long workshop on “Machine Learning: Hands on Practice” conducted by the department of MPE

A day-long workshop titled “Machine Learning: Hands on Practice” was organized by the Department of Mechanical and Production Engineering (MPE) at AUST premises. The session took place on 9th May 9th, 2023, in the departmental classroom (R#9C05), from 3.30 pm and was exclusively attended by students from the IPE (Level 4, Term 1) program. The session aimed to enhance the understanding of Machine Learning, Data Processing, Clustering Algorithm and Prediction Model Algorithm to create an effective learning environment for the students.

The session commenced on 9th May, 2023, with a keynote speech from Mr. Sheak Salman, Lecturer (G-I), Dept. of MPE and he highlighted the importance of Machine Learning (ML) and its implications in the engineering education. Then the session covered three broaden topics of the ML field, which included introduction to ML, Data Reading and Processing, Data Visualization and Scaling, Algorithm Development (Clustering and Prediction model). The session was interactive and included hands-on activity where participants actively engaged in discussions, and shared their experiences and insights on the implementation of coding practices in various ways.

The aim was to equip participants with the essential knowledge and skills required to effectively implement ML in thesis and projects. With a vote of thanks from the students, the session concluded at approximately 6:45 pm.
