The Final Year Design Project (FYDP) Fall 2023 poster exhibition and competition of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) commenced at 10:00 a.m. on November 28, 2024, at the M.H. Khan Auditorium at Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST). The exhibition and competition occurred within the auditorium, including posters suspended from a decorative cross banner that enhanced the program's aesthetic appeal. The final-year students exhibited their thesis and design projects through a poster presentation. The event was officially inaugurated by Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Ashraful Hoque with a ceremonial ribbon-cutting. All professors from the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering attended the event, enhancing its significance by their involvement. Subsequent to the inauguration, the Honorable Vice-Chancellor, accompanied by Prof. Dr. Md. Mahmudur Rahman, Dean of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Bobby Barua, Head of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, along with other scholars and faculty members, examined all the posters and engaged in discussions with the participants regarding their thesis work. They offered valuable counsel and concepts to the project participants to facilitate the continuous development of their work. The event exhibited a diverse array of works in several domains of electrical engineering, including electronics, power, and communication. This exhibition featured pieces from 41 unique groups.
The distinguished faculty members of EEE expressed their satisfaction with the successful attainment of innovative poster presentations. Distinguished Professors from three distinct areas of the EEE field acted as internal judges for the competition. Alongside the internal panel, three judges from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, Power Grid Bangladesh PLC and Ulkasemi Pvt. Ltd designated the panel as external judges. Following a comprehensive and peer-reviewed assessment, three projects were selected as winners from each primary sector of Electrical and Electronics Engineering—Power, Electronics, and Communication—culminating in a total of nine winning projects.
A prize-giving ceremony for the project exhibition occurred on December 9, 2024, at the VC seminar room. All students, supervisors, the Head of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and project committee members were present at this event. The Professors of the EEE department, accompanied by the Vice Chancellor, presented the crest and certificates to the competition winners and encouraged them to enhance their separate projects. A prize fund of 30,000 BDT was distributed among the winners of the competition in various categories. The prize-giving ceremony concluded with a brief photo session. The Department of EEE expressed its profound gratitude to the AUST EEE Society for their logistical assistance during the program.
