The inaugural session three day-long (23-25 December) 13th International Conference on Computer and Information Technology (ICCIT) hosted by Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST) on 23 December, 2010 to provide a unique opportunity for the computer and information technology professionals, scientists, engineers, educators, students and researchers from all over the world to exchange their scientific ideas, views and thoughts with fellow researchers and participants. This conference addressed some relevant and state-of-the-art issues and topics involved in computer science and engineering and information technology.
Architect Yeafesh Osman, Honourable State Minister, Ministry of Science and Information & Communication Technology, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh was present in the inauguration session of the conference as the Chief Guest while Mr. Kazi Rafiqul Alam, Chairman, Board of Trustees, AUST was present as Special Guest. Prof. Dr. M. Anwar Hossain, Vice-Chancellor, AUST and Chairman, Advisory Committee, ICCIT 2010 presided over the session. Mohammad A. Karim was the keynote speaker in the inauguration session.
Since 1998 this conference has been organized by public and private universities every year. More than four hundred papers have been submitted to this conference from Bangladesh, Australia, Canada, China, Germany, India, Iran, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Norway, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, UK and USA. Of these, 136 papers and 20 poster presentations have been accepted. ICCIT 2010, co-sponsored by IEEE Bangladesh Section, is the largest technical event on computer Science and Engineering, Information and Communication in Bangladesh. Three day-long International Conference concluded on 25 December 2010. In the closing ceremony Prof. Dr. M. Anwar Hossain was the Chairman of the session. In the last day it was announced that the next ICCIT-2011 will be held in American International University from 22-24 December, 2011. In the end of the closing ceremony of ICCIT 2010 a colorful cultural program was organized also.
