Ahsanullah University Sports Club (AUSTSC) started its journey on 1st February, 2020 with the moto of “Sports for strength”. It is defined as a registered student organization that exists to promote and develop interest in different sports or physical activity. Among nine objectives of this club, the most important one is to provide a platform of sports and physical activities for the players in the University so that it can help them to learn teamwork, coordination and communication among diverse cultural and ethnic groups. AUSTSC offers the community an opportunity to participate in a broad variety of sports and recreational activities.
This club is officially run by an Executive Committee (EC) comprising eleven (11) members: President, Vice-president, Treasurer, General Secretary, Joint Secretary and General members. Two faculty members are assigned from the University authority to play the roles of the President and the Treasurer so that all the club activities can be monitored and properly guided without violating the rules and regulations of the university.
The member recruitment was done from 23rd February 2020 – 3rd March 2020. Currently the number of members of this club is 430. This recruitment process run in every semester for newly admitted students.
Our motive is not just playing games or participating in the events, but to find out the creative genius from common students for our competitive events.
AUSTSC's goal is to organize competitive events under campus supervision and there on out with the best performers taking part in outdoor events and winning. Students of AUST have already participated in various big competitions such as, NSU Sports Carnival and, Bangabandhu Inter University Sports Competition in this short period of time.
Below is a short glimpse of some of our outdoor activities of past –
"NSU Inter Private University Sports Carnival 2020" was organized by "North South University Athletics Club - NSUAC" Bangladesh". The aim of this tournament was to promote sports amongst the students. This would help reducing the students to get diverted towards the anti-social activities. The event started on 2nd February 2020 and ended on 19th February 2020. A total of 93 private universities across Bangladesh have participated in the mega event. For the first time, two teams from "Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology" have participated in a sports event organized by NSU.
The Bangabandhu Inter-University Sports Championship 2020 officially kicked-off with more than 6,000 athletes from public and private universities across the country set to participate. The tournament is being organized as part of the celebrations for the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The event will be held throughout different campuses of the country and will include football, cricket, swimming, athletics, table tennis, basketball, volleyball, handball, cycling and badminton. Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology" have participated in two event for the first time.
