An international seminar named ISSAT 2021(International Seminar of Science and Applied Technology) was held on October 12, 2021, followed by the success of ISSAT 2020. It was organized by POBLAN in Indonesia virtually.  The main theme of this international conference was the challenges in Research and Innovation in the New Normal Era.

A team of five from the Department of MPE,AUST participated in this seminar. The members were Tauqir Khan, Moinul Mohsin Asif, Hasib Ahmed.They were supervised by Professor Dr. Mazharul Islam from the Department of Mechanical and Production Engineering, AUST and the corresponding author was Professor Zambri Harun from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. At the conference, Moinul Mohsin Asif gave a presentation on the design and development of a vortex turbine for the hilly regions of Bangladesh.They aimed to develop a prototype design of the vortex turbine and increase its efficiency through modifying various parameters.

They were successful in presenting their topic and won the Best Presenter overseas.
