AUST will be represented in the COP 26 Summit of United Nations on Climate Change in November, 2021 to be held in Glasgow,UK

Dr Taskin Jamal (Assistant Professor, Dept. of EEE, AUST), along with the researchers from Infrastructure Development Company Limited (IDCOL), Bangladesh and Keele University, UK, have been awarded a grant of GBP 5,000 by the Climate Compatible Growth (CCG) programme, Foreign Development and Commonwealth Office (FCDO), UK to submit a study on Bangladesh's Renewable Energy Prospects for Long-Term Growth and Sustainable Development.

Dr. Taskin of AUST will present the study at the prestigious United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) summit (COP26), to be held in Glasgow, UK, in November 2021.

The UNFCCC Parties (countries) gather formally at the COP summits to review progress in addressing climate change and, beginning in the mid-1990s, to negotiate the Kyoto Protocol, which established legally enforceable requirements for industrialized nations to decrease greenhouse gas emissions.
