Immediately after his graduation he joined Padma Textile Mills Ltd of BEXIMCO group as a Production Officer. He switched his job in September 1999 over to BASF Bangladesh Ltd, a subsidiary company of BASF AG, Germany and continued there till May 2005.

Meanwhile, he went to The University of Dresden, Germany and obtained M Sc in Textile and Clothing Engineering with brilliant result in 2004. After 3 months, he was promoted to the post of Assistant Professor and in July 2011, he was appointed as Associate Professor in the same department. During his 10-year teaching career, he was loved & respected by the students. To his colleagues, he was a cheerful & witty companion. He is one of the dedicated contributors to the development of the Department of Textile Engineering of AUST. He served as a coordinator of one of the major streams of the department namely wet processing. Two laboratories of that stream were under his supervision.
