Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology held a Re-Naming Ceremony of its Multipurpose Hall and Library on 3rd January 2015 at 11.00 am in seminar room of AUST. Mr. Kazi Rafiqul Alam, Chairman of AUST Board of Trustees and President of the Dhaka Ahsania Mission, Prof. Dr. M.H.Khan, Former Vice-Chancellor, BUET and Founder Vice-Chancellor of AUST, Barrister Rafique-ul Huq, Senior Advocate, Bangladesh Supreme Court, Prof .Dr. A.M.M. Safiullah, Vice-Chancellor, AUST, Prof. Dr.Kazi Shariful Alam, Treasurer, AUST and Mr. Muhammad Abdul Gafur, Registrar, AUST, Daughter of Mr. Kazi Fazlur Rahman Mrs. Tabassum Sakhayuat  were present at the ceremony.

Prof. M.H.Khan expressed his feelings on re-naming the Multipurpose Hall in his name. On behalf of Kazi Fazlur Rahman, his daughter Mrs. Tabassum expressed her feelings on the occasion.

Mr. Kazi Fazlur Rahman were the President and Chairman of Syndicate of Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology till 2008 since 1995. In order to pay tribute to his contribution towards the development of AUST Board of Trustees of AUST Decided to name the University Library as kazi Fazlur Rahman Library after his name. And Mrs. Tabassum Sakhayuat daughter of Mr. Kazi Fazlur Rahman inaugurated the Library in absence of her father who couldn�t attain the function due to illness.

University Board of Trustees named the University Multipurpose Hall after Prof. Dr. M.H.Khan, Former Vice-Chancellor, Buet and Founder Vice-Chancellor of AUST. Under his leadership Ahsanullah University  has grown to a stage where it is now recognized as one of the best Private Universities in Bangladesh and currently it has attained permanent status of the Government.

It was suggested that life activities of these two family members of the AUST be kept in the AUST Library  so that the young generation  gets inspiration from this life and work. During the re-naming ceremony a life-sketch  of the two eminent person Kazi Fazlur Rahman and Prof. Dr. M.H.Khan  was read at by Prof. Dr. Kazi Shariful Alam. Various aspects of their lives and works were  discussed by Chief guest Kazi Rafiqul Haque, Mrs. Tabassum Sakhauyat and  the current Vice-Chancellor of AUST Prof. Dr. A.M.M. Safiullah.
