Mr. Nurul Islam Nahid M.P., Minister, Ministry of Education, Government of the People?s Republic of Bangladesh, expressed his shock at the demise of two students and four students missing while they went for a swim in the Bay


H.E. Mr. Nurul Islam Nahid M.P., Minister, Ministry of Education, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh called on Prof. Dr. A.M.M. Safiullah, Vice-Chancellor, Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST) to express his deep condolence at the death of two AUST students in St Martin's Island, Cox's Bazar on Pohela Baishakh. He expressed his shock at the demise of two students and four students missing while they went for a swim in the Bay. He expressed that the nation has lost these meritorious students which is a great loss and prayed to Allah that their bereaved parents and dear ones can overcome the agony of this loss.

The Minister expressed his deep condolence to the AUST family for the recent unfortunate demise of these students of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. He shared his mutual feelings and grievances for the loss and gave some suggesstions to the teachers during conversation with them.

Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Treasurer of the University, Heads of the Departments, faculty members, Registrar, and officers were present during his visit. The VC expressed gratitude to the Minister for his personal presence and for his sympathy and sharing the loss of meritorious students of AUST.
