AUST PARTICIPATES IN THE LAUNCH OF DS2S NETWORK IN BANGALORE

A delegation from AUST actively participated in the launch event of the DS2S Network in Bangalore, India, which took place from October 15 to 17, 2024. The event marked a significant step in creating a collaborative ecosystem that aims to equip students with the digital skills needed for future careers.

The AUST team, which was part of a dynamic partnership uniting universities and industry leaders from Bangladesh, Germany, India, and Vietnam, was led by the Pro-Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Mahbubur Rahman. Along with him, Prof. Dr. Lal Mohan Baral, Associate Prof. Dr. Mohammad Tajul Islam, and Lecturer Ms. Noor-E-Farzana Annesha represented the university in discussions centered around equipping students with the skills needed to meet the demands of the ever-evolving workforce.

The DS2S Network aims to provide students with digital skills that transcend traditional boundaries, aligning with industry needs in fields such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Data Science, and Digital Entrepreneurship. Industry giants including Cisco, IBM, SAP, Tech Mahindra Foundation, Lenovo, and Capgemini were present, contributing to discussions on innovative educational models, such as the 60/40 learning approach.

The event included the formation of a Steering Committee and specialized working groups, focusing on addressing digital skills gaps through micro-credentials and gamified learning experiences. The partnership will play a key role in shaping the future of education and creating a more adaptable, skillful workforce.

AUST’s participation in this initiative is an important milestone in enhancing the university’s commitment to sustainability and digital skills education, further strengthening international collaborations.
