Seminar on Fire Safety and First Aid for the AUST Fire/Disaster Safety Team Members


The newly formed Campus Safety Task Force (CSTF) of AUST organized a seminar on Fire Safety and First Aid for the Wardens and Assistant Wardens of the AUST Fire/Disaster Safety Team at the VC’s seminar room on Sunday, April 21, 2024. The inaugural program was presided over by Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor (in charge) Prof. Dr. Mohammed Mahbubur Rahman, while Prof. Dr. S.M.A. Al-Mamun, Prof. Dr. Mazharul Islam, Mr. ABM Mahbubul Malik, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Architecture, Engr. Md. Ahsan Habib and Dr. Mohammad Khaled Hasan were present at the dais. The inaugural program was conducted by Dr. Md. Zillur Rahman, Librarian and Member of CSTF.

Prof. Mazharul Islam, the Chairman of CSTF, delivered his welcome address and thanked all the participants for attending the session, and he informed them about additional training activities in the future.

Prof. Dr. Mohammed Mahbubur Rahman highlighted the importance of safety-related issues. Mentioning the recent incident on Bailey Road in Dhaka, he emphasized that our wardens and assistant wardens should be alert so that we can save lives as well as the wealth of the university in crisis moments.

Mr. ABM Mahbubul Malik, HoD of the Department of Architecture, shared his personal experience of fire and told the audience that we have to minimize panic as well as ensure evacuation in proper manner. The vote of thanks was given by University Engineer Md. Ahsan Habib. He especially mentioned the proactive role of the AUST Vice-Chancellor (in charge) in forming the Campus Safety Task Force, which is unique among the private universities in Bangladesh.
