Seminar on 'Economy of Tomorrow: Role of SMEs for Promoting Economy in Bangladesh'


The SoB faculty members with chief guest and special guest

School of Business (SoB), Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST) organized a seminar titled ‘Economy of Tomorrow: Role of SMEs for Promoting Economy in Bangladesh’, on January 30, 2024, Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. in the VC Seminar room of AUST. Professor Dr. Md. Masudur Rahman, Chairperson, SME Foundation, was present as keynote speaker. Professor Dr. Mohammed Mahbubur Rahman, Honorable Vice Chancellor (In-Charge), and Pro-Vice-Chancellor, AUST was present as chief guest. Professor Dr. Saleh Mohammed Mashehdul Islam, Dean, Faculty of Business and Social Sciences, AUST and Professor Dr. Wahiduzzaman Khan, Head, School of Business, AUST, were present as special guest and chair of the session respectively.

The seminar started with the recitation of some verses from the Holy Quran. Then, after a warm welcome speech given by Professor Dr. Saleh Mohammed Mashehdul Islam, the keynote speaker, Professor Dr. Md. Masudur Rahman, joined the stage and elaborated on the discussion, focusing on how, in the process of economic development, SMEs play a pivotal role in poverty alleviation and rapid industrialization in developing countries like Bangladesh. The students of the School of Business had a great opportunity to directly seek Professor Dr. Md. Masudur Rahman’s advice on specific issues related to personal and professional growth.

The SME Foundation Chairperson, Prof. Dr. Md. Masudur Rahman, receives the crest from Vice Chancellor (In-Charge), AUST, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Mahbubur Rahman
