The momentous occasion was started by a ribbon-cutting ceremony by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Fazli Ilahi (Vice Chancellor of Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology). Prof. Dr. Tareq Aziz (Head of the Department of EEE), Prof. Dr. Bobby Barua (Director, P &D), Prof. Dr. Md. Currently, a nanosatellite project named AUSTSAT is running which would be supportive for both academic and research purposes. According to the advice of the Honorable Vice-Chancellor, the current research on AUSTSAT 3U Nanosatellite, aimed to contribute to Remote Sensing applications, with a targeted focus on the ecological monitoring of the Sundarbans, the world's largest mangrove forest.
