A seminar titled ‘𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝟴.𝟬: 𝗥𝗼𝗮𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸 (𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗮)’ was successfully organized by IEEE AUST Student Branch, on Thursday, 19 January, 2023 at VC Seminar Hall, AUST in collaboration with the Department of EEE, AUST, AUST EEE Society, IEEE Women In Engineering Affinity Group, IEEE SPS & IEEE ComSoc Joint SB Chapter, AUST and IEEE Power & Energy Society AUST SB Chapter.
The keynote speaker of the seminar was Dr. Abdullah Al Mamun, who is currently employed as a software engineer at Meta Headquarters in California, United States. He mostly collaborates with the Facebook Shopping Ads group. Before joining Meta, he pursued a PhD in Computer Science from Florida International University (FIU). He was a part of the Machine Learning and Data Analytics Group (MLDAG), as well as the Bioinformatics Research Group (BioRG) at Florida International University. His research interests include the intersection of Machine learning (ML) and Data Science.
The main focus of the session was the speaker's journey, which he shared with the audience throughout the event. Students from different departments of AUST were present in the seminar. There were 124 participants in total. The event was open to all students & faculty members of AUST. A good number of students attended from other universities including Daffodil International University; United International University; Dhaka University of Engineering and Technology, Gazipur; International Standard University and Dhaka International University.
The talk was followed by a lively question & answer session. Both faculty members and students placed insightful questions, and the speaker did his best to provide them with an appropriate response while maintaining the same vigor.
At the end of the session, the Chief Guest of the event, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Fazli Ilahi, Honorable VC, AUST, handed over the token of gratitude & greetings to the speaker. The event was attended by Prof. Dr. A.K.M Ehtesanul Islam (Counselor, IEEE AUST Student Branch), Dr. Md. Meganur Rahman Professor, Department of EEE, and the Advisor to the Student’s Welfare Office, AUST, and other respected faculty members.
