Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) of Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST) has organized a seminar on 28^th December 2022 Wednesday at 3.30 pm at room no 7A04 (Block-A, Level 6) entitled as “Future of Data Science”. The seminar was conducted by Mr. Nurul Akter Towhid who is a Data Scientist and Certified Agile Leader. He is currently working as the lead data scientist of COEL Inc., Tokyo, Japan. He supports the growth and professional development of the data science team of the company and conducts research to improve the accuracy of machine learning/deep learning models and update the product based on research outcome. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Engineering from Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology.

The seminar started with a welcome address from Professor Dr. Md. Shamim Akhter.  The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Dr. S.M.A. Al-Mamun and the Head of CSE department, Dr. Md. Shahriar Mahbub attended the seminar and encouraged students with their thoughts on Data Science. Other faculty members of the department were also present at the event. The students of the CSE department were the main participants of the seminar.  Mr. Nurul Akter Towhid discussed various aspects of data science and the growth of the data industry in recent years. He also provided insight into some of the current research areas. The speaker ended his session with an illustration of the job market for data scientists.

Dr. S.M.A. Al-Mamun, Dr. Md. Shahriar Mahbub, and Dr. Md. Shamim Akhter accompanied by other faculty members, handed over a souvenir as a plaque of appreciation to the speaker on behalf of Dept. of CSE, AUST. The seminar ended with a question answering session conducted by the speaker on how to be a successful data scientist.
