Voluntary Blood Donation Program held at Ahsanullah University of Science & Technology


Ahsanullah University of Science & Technology (AUST) and Quantum Foundation, Dhaka jointly organized a Voluntary Blood Donation Program at the permanent campus of AUST located at Tejgaon industrial area, Dhaka. The program was held on January 23, 2014 from 10.00 AM to 4.00 PM at the playground of the university. 

A total of 151 students participated in this program and donated their blood. Among the participants, 129 donors were male students & 22 donors were female students of AUST. After blood donation, each donor was provided with a free blood screening report containing blood group determination result as well as test results on five diseases including AIDS, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, Malaria and Syphilis in their blood. 

Department of Students Welfare, AUST regularly arranges such Voluntary Blood Donation Program in order to motivate undergraduate and post graduate students regarding social and humanitarian services, and tries to create a network for expanding its helping activities for the welfare of the country.  

Mr. Sheikh Md. Foisal, Coordinator of Quantum Foundation and Dr. Ahmad Munir Hussain, Medical Officer, AUST supervised the whole program. A number of volunteers of Quantum Foundation under the leadership of Mrs. Farida Akter motivated the students for donating blood throughout the whole day. Department of Students Welfare, AUST extended its full support to make the program successful.
