The Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) organised the EEE Week 2026 prize-giving ceremony on 26 July 2026 at the M. H. Khan Auditorium, AUST Campus, to honour the winners of various competitions held during the Spring 2025 and Fall 2025 semesters. The ceremony was graced by Professor Dr. Bobby Barua, Head of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE), as the Chief Guest. Other distinguished guests included Professor Dr. Md. Meganur Rahman, Director of the Center for Nanotechnology, and Professor Dr. Md. Shariful Islam, Advisor of Students' Welfare. The event celebrated students' outstanding achievements in project development, analog integrated circuit design, Verilog programming, and circuit quiz competitions, recognising their exceptional performances and reaffirming the department's commitment to fostering academic excellence, innovation, and technical competence among its students.

Project Competition

As part of the EEE-3100: Fundamentals of Electrical Design course, students designed and developed a variety of innovative projects, which were presented at ElectraXhibit: Project Showcase and Competition held on 13 April 2026. The projects were evaluated by two distinguished panels comprising internal and external judges.

The first judging panel comprised Dr. Taskin Jamal, Associate Professor, Department of EEE, AUST; Mr. Adnan Amin Siddiquee, Lecturer, Department of EEE, AUST; and Mr. Nasir Hossain, IoT System Engineer, ADN DigiNet.

The second judging panel comprised Dr. Md. Tashfiq Bin Kashem, Associate Professor, Department of EEE, AUST; Mr. Md. Mohi Uddin Khan, Lecturer, Department of EEE, AUST; and Mr. Sheikh Fardin Hossen Araf, Embedded Systems Engineer, Frontier Semiconductor Bangladesh Ltd.

Following a comprehensive evaluation, the following projects received awards in recognition of their excellence:

1st Prize: A Microcontroller-Based Safety and Control System for Electric Water Heaters with Dry-Run Prevention and Water Suitability Analysis

2nd Prize: Footstep and Vehicle Pressure-Based Piezoelectric Energy Generation for Surveillance Systems

3rd Prize: Automated Waste Segregation Dustbin

4th Prize: FLOODLINK: An Integrated Early Warning, Emergency Communication and Rescue Framework for Flood-Prone Regions

5th Prize: Leaderless Reconfigurable Self-Repairing Swarm Robots

Analog IC Design Contest

Students from the EEE-4135: Analog Integrated Circuit course participated in a four-day hands-on training program on Analog Integrated Circuit Design, conducted by industry experts. The training provided participants with practical exposure to analog integrated circuit design methodologies and industry practices.

Following the training, an individual design contest was held on 27 June 2026. The contest was evaluated by Mr. Md. Shahriar Hasan and Mr. Sabbir Bhuiyan, Engineers from the Analog Department of Ulkasemi Pvt. Limited.

Based on their performance in the competition, the following participants were awarded prizes:

Verilog Programming Contest

Students from various semesters participated in the Verilog Programming Contest held on 6 July 2026. The contest aimed to foster students’ competitive spirit and enhance their practical skills in Verilog programming and VLSI design. The competition was evaluated by Ms. Abeer Khan, Lecturer, Department of EEE, AUST.

Circuit Quiz Contest

The Circuit Quiz Contest was held on 8 July 2026, featuring two segments: Circuit Master for first-year and second-year students, and Circuit Olympiad for third-year and fourth-year students. The competition was evaluated by Mr. Zubair Ibne Kabir and Mr. Mustafid Bin Mostafa, Lecturers in the Department of EEE, AUST.

The event concluded with the presentation of certificates of appreciation to the judges, event organizers, members of the Spring 2025 AUST EEE Society Executive Committee, and volunteers. The Head of the EEE Department expressed sincere gratitude for their hard work, dedication, and invaluable contributions, recognizing their efforts in making the event a success.
