A day-long program for Reception and Orientation of newly admitted students for Fall-2025 Semester was organized at Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology on Sunday, 14 June 2026 at M.H. Khan Auditorium. The program was organized by the ASW Office of AUST.
Dr. Mohammad Khalilullah, Vice-President, Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM), Former Additional Secretary, Ministry of Public Administration, Govt. of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh and Member of BoT, AUST, attended the program as the Chief Guest, and the program was chaired by Professor Dr. Md. Ashraful Hoque, Vice-Chancellor of AUST.
The program commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran. Prof. Dr. Md. Shariful Islam, Advisor of Students’ Welfare, delivered the welcome speech. In his address, he wished the newly admitted student’s success in their future careers and advised them to uphold moral values at every stage of life.
Following this, one student representative from each program expressed his feelings of becoming the members of AUST family. The speakers included Amrin Ridi (Arch.), Samiur Rahman Jahin (SoB), Mahnaz Zaheen Sneha (CE), Anirban Paul (CSE), Takiya Tabassum (EEE), Nishat Jerin (ME), Afrita Nuzhat (IPE), and Sadiya Amin Borsha (TE).

Mahmudur Rahman, Registrar (In-Charge), Prof. Dr. G M A Balayet Hossain, Head, Department of Architecture and Planning, Prof. Dr. Humaira Farzana, Head, Department of Arts and Sciences, Prof. Dr. Parul Akhter, Head, School of Business, Prof. Dr. Fatema-Tuz-Zahura, Head, Department of Civil Engineering, Prof. Dr. S M A. Al- Mamun, Head, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Prof. Dr. Bobby Barua, Head, Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Prof. Dr. Md. Shahnewaz Bhuiyan, Head, Department of Mechanical and Production Engineering, Mr. Mohammad Faizur Rahman, Head, Department of Textile Engineering spoke and introduced themselves from their Departments and Offices.
Prof. Dr. Farida Nilufar, Dean, Faculty of Architecture and Planning, Prof. Dr. S. M Shafiul Alam, Dean, Faculty of Business and Social Science and Prof. Dr. Md. Abdul Matin, Dean, Faculty of Engineering spoke on the program.
Professor Dr. Sharmin Reza Chowdhury, Pro Vice-Chancellor (In Charge) and Treasurer of AUST, attended the program as the Special Guest and delivered a speech for the newly admitted students. He emphasized the importance of quality education, discipline, innovation, and leadership in shaping successful future careers.
Dr. Mohammad Khalilullah, Vice-President, Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM), attended the program as the Chief Guest, and emphasized that the true purpose of education extends beyond academic achievement to include character building, creativity, and service to society. Highlighting the longstanding contributions of Dhaka Ahsania Mission to education, healthcare, and social welfare, he urged the students to embrace ethical values, integrity, and a spirit of social responsibility to become future leaders capable of bringing positive change to the nation.
The program was chaired by Prof. Dr. Md. Ashraful Hoque, Vice-Chancellor of AUST. In his address, he warmly welcomed the newly admitted students to the AUST family and highlighted the university’s commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and holistic development. He encouraged the students to take the most of the opportunities available at the university, uphold discipline and ethical values, and strive to become competent professionals and responsible citizens who can contribute meaningfully to the nation and society.
All Academic heads spoke on the various issues of rules and regulations as well as guidelines. Academic discipline and extra co-curricular activities of the University were highlighted. The Students’ Welfare Teams organized orientation program on behalf of the university to welcome the newly admitted students. The role of the protorial body and students’ welfare team is always with a view to leaving a positive impression on all students and their families. The respective Department organized separate orientation program for the newly admitted students, aiming to welcome and guide them for the new academic journey.
