AUST Civil Engineering Society (ACES) organized an Iftar Mahfil on April 13, 2022 at AUST premise. The event was blossomed with the participation of students, Alumni and Faculty members of the Department of Civil Engineering. The President of ACES and the honorable Head of the Department Dr. Sharmin Reza Chowdhury graced the event as Chief Guest. The event started with the recitation from the holy Quran. After that one of the Alumni from the 1^st batch Mr. Aktaruzzaman Hasan thanked the members of ACES and the students for inviting them and arranging such a wonderful event. Following this the honorable Head of the Department Dr. Sharmin Reza Chowdhury appreciated the hosting members for organizing this event. He also emphasized the values of such event as it elevates the cordiality and interactions among students, Alumni and Faculty members. Next, a combined Munajat took place among all where they prayed to the Almighty for accepting their fasting with good rewards. At the end of this the Iftar time came up and everyone enjoyed the Iftar food together in a festive environment. 

After the Iftar Mahfil, the honorable Head of the Department Dr. Sharmin Reza Chowdhury invited the Alumni for a discussion session and tea party at the Department. In that seating, Dr. Sharmin Reza Chowdhury interacted with the Alumni asking how their professional life going on. He also opened the floor for them if they have any suggestion regarding the academic development of this Department. Several effective proposals came up from the Alumni where industrial involvement, field knowledge, sharing professional experience among students etc. were top topics. They also offered to share their professional knowledge and experience with the students occasionally which was appreciated by Dr. Sharmin Reza Chowdhury. At the end, the honorable Head of the Department thanked them all for coming and making the event successful.
