Aust Architecture thesis project winners of 'DOT Student Design Competition' and launcing ceremony of DOT magazine


This is a matter of pleasure that two students from 29th batch of Department of Architecture, AUST have received 'Shah Cement DOT Student Design Award' of 10th Cycle for the session March 2018. 'DOT' a journal on art and architecture of Bangladesh, arranges design competitions among the student's projects of architectural schools in Bangladesh and from AUST Farhan Al Rafi and Arifin Jubaer owned 1st prize and Commendation respectively in Category A for their thesis projects.

On April 26, 2018, in a houseful prize giving ceremony at AUST, the organizer announced the names of the winners in different categories and handed over the certificate and prizing money among the winners. Besides thesis projects competition in Category A, DOT also awarded students for Category B & C - student's projects competition for different levels. These prizes went to the students from BRAC University (BRACU), American International University Bangladesh (AIUB) and Premier University. In a joyful environment of AUST Jury Room, the audiences from AUST and others were overwhelmed with the student's achievement.

Along with award giving ceremony, 'DOT' Journal also launched its Issue 03, Volume 03 in the same occasion. The event was graced with the presence of Chairman of Delvistaa Foundation Ar. Mustapha Khalid Palash, DOT Publisher Ar. Shazia Islam, other members of the DOT editorial panel Ar. Mustasim M Khan, Ar. Rezaur Rahman, Ar. MA Kayesh Tanim, Assistant Manager of Shah Cement Industries Tasnuva Haider, Dean of the faculty Prof. Dr. M. A. Muktadir, Department Head Prof Dr. Jasmin Ara Begum, Prof. Dr. Shehzad Zahir, Associate Professor Mahbubul Malik, respected faculty members, students and other distinguished personalities. 'Dot' is an art and architecture focused quarterly journal in Bangladesh published by Delvistaa Foundation.

Speakers in the ceremony praised the initiative taken by DOT and Shah Cement group to arrange this Student Design Competition regularly and expressed the necessity of such opportunities for better exposure of potentials of the students. The role of DOT in documenting and promoting art & architecture of the country too was hailed. The unveiling and award giving ceremony was followed by refreshment.
