AUST holds fresher's reception & Orientation Program

A reception and orientation program for the newly admitted students (Spring Semester- 2013) has been held on 20 April 2013 Saturday at the permanent campus of Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST).

Vice-Chancellor of AUST and former VC of BUET Prof. Dr. A. M. M. Safiullah presided over the ceremony while founder VC of AUST and former VC of BUET Prof. Dr. M. H. Khan, Prof. Dr. A. F. M. Anwarul Haque, Dean, Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr. M. A. Muktadir, Dean, Faculty of Architecture and Planning, Prof. A. Z. M. Anisur Rahman, Dean, Faculty of Business and Social Sciences, Prof. Dr. M. Shahabuddin, Proctor of AUST, M. A. Abul Hussain, Advisor of Students Welfare also spoke on the occasion.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. A. M. M. Safiullah said congratulating the newly admitted students that education is not just a way to get a job. Education is really a way to remake you. But the object of education is to be a good and honest man. A student will have to utilize his education, knowledge and prudence for the welfare of the country and people. Every student must impose his knowledge to solve existing different problems in our country. He also expressed his expectation that I wish the newly admitted students will keep themselves to make an example so that the AUST campus will be considered as the best campus and culture for creating honest and skilled man.

He mentioned that the students have to work hard so that they will be succeeded in the competitive globalized world. The students will have to learn how to collaborate, how to communicate perfectly. The new comers have to develop their potentiality, their critical thinking, have to be honest, optimistic, integrated, and cooperative to others he added in his speech.

Prof. Dr. M. H. Khan said in his speech that a student have to be different to prove himself in the competitive market. He said addressing the freshers that students will have to be cautious, sincere and serious to their learning from the beginning. All of you are starting from zero in undergraduate program and you have to promote yourself with knowledge and information and will have to try creating new knowledge. If you work hard, you will be succeeded and considered as an asset for the country.

A Section of Audience in general program

The head of the departments, teachers, stuffs and employees of AUST along with newly admitted students were also present there. After the general program, reception programs were also held by the respective departments. These programs were led by the head of the respective departments. 

The fresher’s reception program started at 9.30 am at the Multipurpose Hall of AUST.  It covers the following topics: Academic Program, Course Curriculum, Examination System, Payment of Semester Fees, Future Prospects, Attendance in the class, Rules and Regulation related examination system, and facilities available in the departments and the university.
