MARSCON 2026 Inaugurated at AUST

The 2026 IEEE International Conference on Microwave, Antennas, RF and Sensors (IEEE MARSCON 2026) was formally inaugurated today in a ceremony held at the Prof. Dr. M. H. Khan Auditorium, Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST). The event brought together academics, researchers, and delegates from across the field of microwave and sensor technologies for a morning of reflection, recognition, and forward-looking dialogue.

The program opened at 9:00 AM with the arrival and registration of guests, followed by a recitation from the Holy Qur'an that set a reflective tone for the proceedings. Dignitaries on stage were welcomed with floral tributes as a gesture of appreciation for their presence and guidance.

Dr. Bobby Barua, Organizing Chair of IEEE MARSCON 2026 and Professor & Head of the Department of EEE at AUST, delivered the Welcome Address, formally opening the day's proceedings and setting a positive tone for the conference.

He was followed by Dr. Md. Selim Hossain, Technical Program Committee Chair and Professor in the Department of EEE at Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology (RUET), who shared insights into the technical scope and paper presentations lined up for the conference.

An address was also scheduled from Dr. Mohammed Imamul Hassan Bhuiyan, Chair of the IEEE Bangladesh Section and Professor in the Department of EEE at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). Due to unavoidable circumstances, he was unable to attend the session in person, but he conveyed his heartfelt gratitude and warm wishes to all conference guests, members, and participants.

The ceremony continued with remarks from the conference's General Chairs — Dr. Md Aminul Islam, Associate Professor in the Department of EECE at the Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST), Dhaka, and Dr. A K M Baki, Professor in the Department of EEE at AUST — both of whom addressed the gathering on the vision and objectives of IEEE MARSCON 2026.

Dr. Pran Kanai Saha, Advisor to the conference and Professor in the Department of EEE at AUST, also shared his remarks, offering guidance rooted in his experience within the field.

The session's honorary segment began with an address from the Guest of Honor, Prof. Dr. Golam Rahman, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, AUST, whose presence and words were warmly received by the audience.

The most anticipated moment of the morning came with the address of the Honorable Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. Md Mamun Bin Ibne Reaz, Vice-Chancellor of the Islamic University of Technology (IUT), who offered an enlightening address to the gathering.

This was followed by the Honorable Chief Patron of the event, Dr. Md. Ashraful Hoque, Vice-Chancellor of AUST, who delivered a presidential address outlining his vision for the conference and the institution's continued support for research in the field.

In recognition of the distinguished guests' contributions, a crest presentation segment was held: Dr. Bobby Barua presented a crest to the Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. Md Mamun Bin Ibne Reaz; Dr. Md Aminul Islam presented a crest to the Special Guest, Prof. Dr. Golam Rahman; and Dr. A K M Baki presented a crest to the Chief Patron, Dr. Md. Ashraful Hoque.

IEEE MARSCON 2026 was then officially declared open by Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Md Mamun Bin Ibne Reaz, marking the formal launch of the conference's technical sessions.

The inaugural session drew to a close with a formal Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. Md. Tashfiq Bin Kashem, Organizing Secretary of IEEE MARSCON 2026 and Associate Professor in the Department of EEE at AUST, who expressed gratitude to all dignitaries, organizers, and participants for making the ceremony a success.

With its inauguration complete, IEEE MARSCON 2026 then moved into its core program, bringing together researchers and industry experts to explore emerging developments in microwave engineering, antenna design, RF systems, and sensor technologies.
