On 9 February 2013, a team from the Universiti of Teknologi, Malaysia (UTM) visited Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST). The team was led by Prof. Ir. Dr. Wahid Omar, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Development) of UTM. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Kamal Idris, Dean of Undergraduate studies, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Ariffian Bujang, Director of Centre for General Courses and Co-curriculum (CGCC) Association, and Md. Sayem Khan, President of Bangladesh Society along with a total of 16 undergraduates from various departments of UTM were present.

At the meeting room of the VC, a discussion was made on issues of mutual interest. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. A. M. M Safiullah, Proctor Prof. Dr. M. Shahabuddin, Ms. Rumana Rashid and Ms. Nushrat Wahid, faculties of AUST were present there. The visiting team appreciated the academic atmosphere of the AUST Campus as expressed their high interest on exchange program with AUST. On behalf of UTM, Prof. Ir. Dr. Wahid Omar handed over a crest of the UTM to the Vice-Chancellor of AUST which was appreciated by all.
