Lighting impacts in the well-being of human life. Human being needs light not only to communicate and enhance his ability to perform but also for his well-being and security. Presence of proper lighting is essential in the built environment and in architecture. Focusing on the basic lighting design strategies and well-being of the users, Architect and Lighting Designer Tawhid Amanullah presented an array of his research experiences and design expertise in lighting design in the seminar titled "Basic Lighting: Light and Human", held on 7th of January 2018 at Room no. 3C02, Department of Architecture of the Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology.
The key speaker, Architect and Lighting Designer Tawhid Amanullah carried out research on lighting design strategies and its impact on human health and working in this sector as professional in a number of cities in Europe.In the lecture he depicted the process of lighting design from theory to practice for the well-being of human health within the built environment.
The seminar generated discussion among the notable faculty members and students from the Department of Architecture. Professor Dr. M.A. Muktadir talked on his views of design strategies of lighting in relation to the well-being of human health and Architecture. Prof. Dr. Jasmin Ara Begum, Head of the Department of Architecture, AUST appreciated the initiative of Seminar and Workshop Organizing Committee in arranging the series of seminars and she encouraged the speaker in her inspiring concluding speech. The seminar believed to be encouraging for the student participants to integrate lighting design ideas in their academic studio projects. The seminar was moderated by Prof. Dr. Shehzad Zahir and supported by the committee members, Ar. Jishan Fuad Chowdhury, Ar. Tanzila Samad Choudhury, Ar. Jayedi Aman and Ar. Seikh Rishad Ahmmad.
