Outstanding Doctoral Research Award 2021


Prof. Dr. Md. Meganur Rhaman is receiving the "NYAB Outstanding Doctoral Research Award 2021" from the President of NYAB

Prof. Dr. Md. Meganur Rhaman, EEE, AUST received the “NYAB Outstanding Doctoral Research Award 2021” in the Applied Sciences and Engineering Section on Saturday, September 24, 2022 from the National Young Academy of Bangladesh (NYAB). NYAB is an independent organization to represent and cater for the young researchers in Bangladesh. The aim of NYAB is to promote and recognize excellence in Doctoral research in Bangladesh (https://nyabangladesh.org/outstanding-doctoral-research-award/). Currently, Prof. Dr. Abdul Basith (Department of Physics, BUET) is the President of NYAB.

Prof.  Dr. Md. Meganur Rhaman is an Alumni of Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST). He completed his Bachelor's Degree from the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) in the year 2004. He secured the second position in his class with Dean's List of Honor. After that, he joined Siemens BD Ltd for a few months then joined the Department of EEE, AUST as a Lecturer in 2005. Subsequently, he completed a Master's in Engineering from the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in 2010. Afterward, he successfully completed his Ph.D. from the Department of Glass and Ceramic Engineering, BUET in 2019 under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Md. Abdul Matin. The title of his Ph.D. thesis is “Bandgap Tuning of Bismuth Ferrite by Site Engineering Using Samarium and Cobalt for Photovoltaic Application”. More than ten Index (SCI/Scopus) journal papers (SJR: Q1, Q2, and Q3) have been published from his Ph.D. thesis. Currently, he is working as a Professor in the Department of EEE, AUST. Additionally, he is serving as the Advisor of Students’ Welfare at Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology. Recently (September 2022), he also received an “AUST Internal Research Grant” for one year. His research interest is in the field of Photovoltaic cell materials, Nanomaterials, and Renewable Energy.
