This program is the 5th installment of the “Career Talk” series of the IEOM Society AUST Student Chapter. The guest speaker was Mr. Mehedi Hasan Mihad. He is currently pursuing post-graduation in Energy Management at the University of British Columbia, Canada. Moreover, he graduated from AUST IPE. In this session, he shared his experience regarding the application procedure, criteria, and most importantly provincial nominated programs (PNPs).
The PNP is a Canadian immigration program that allows provinces and territories to nominate individuals for permanent residence in Canada. The program is designed to address specific labor market needs in each province or territory and allows those regions to select immigrants who are most likely to succeed in their local job market. Each province and territory have its unique criteria and application process for the PNP, and individuals must first be nominated by a province or territory before they can apply for permanent residence in the government of Canada. As our guest was enrolled in such programs, he shared with us his very own experience. In addition, he shared his entire journey to inspire others to seek post-graduate studies in Canada with the goal of settling.
