Mechanical and Production Engineering

A group of 6 (six) enthusiastic students from Level 4, Term 1 of the IPE program had the incredible opportunity to participate in an industrial attachment at Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd. in Bangladesh from July 2 to July 6, 2023. Square Pharmaceuticals is a trusted provider of high-quality healthcare solutions for the nation's diversified requirements. Dedicated to innovation, ethics, and customer happiness, this pharmaceutical company has advanced medical technology and improved millions of lives.

The students immersed themselves in the diverse departments of the renowned pharmaceutical company. Throughout their attachment, they gained practical knowledge and hands-on experience in various areas, including production planning, manufacturing, formulation unit, quality assurance & control, Utility (Black & Clean), HVAC system, research and development, Environment-Health and Safety (EHS), and Inventory Control. The students were exposed to state-of-the-art machinery, advanced quality assurance processes, and efficient production control systems. Additionally, they had the privilege of visiting the Engineering workshop, where they were assigned to re-design a layout of the workshop supervised by the General Manager of, the Engineering Department, SQUARE. Drawing from their theoretical knowledge and practical observations during the attachment, the students meticulously prepared a comprehensive presentation on the effective layout design of the engineering workshop. The friendly and supportive executives and managers of the Human Resources (HR) and Engineering Department at Square Pharmaceuticals made the students' learning experience even more rewarding, as each department imparted knowledge and expertise with great enthusiasm and passion. This industrial attachment at Square Pharmaceuticals has undoubtedly enriched the students' theoretical understanding and equipped them with practical skills to excel in the pharmaceutical industry.
