Revolutionizing the Future: Seminar on Technology-Enabled Digital Supply Chain by bKash Career and IEOM Society Student Chapter


A seminar on "Technology-Enabled Digital Supply Chain" was successfully held on 18 December 2024 at the VC Seminar Hall of Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST). The event commenced at 2 PM and was organized jointly by bKash Career and the IEOM Society Student Chapter.

The seminar began with an inauguration ceremony, graced by Prof. Dr. Md. Ashraful Hoque, the Vice Chancellor of AUST, who attended as the Chief Guest. He emphasized the critical role of digital transformation in the modern supply chain and applauded the efforts of the organizers for creating a platform to educate and inspire the students about this evolving domain. Accompanying him were prominent academic figures, including Prof. Dr. A. N. Mustafizul Karim, Head of the Mechanical and Production Engineering Department, and Prof. Dr. Mohammad Sarwar Morshed, Director of the IQAC and professor in the Mechanical and Production Engineering department. They shared their insights on the academic and practical aspects of the supply chain, highlighting its growing importance in industrial and business landscapes.

The highlight of the seminar was the keynote speech delivered by Mohammad Rashedul Alam, EVP and Head of Supply Chain and Procurement Department at bKash Limited. His presentation provided an in-depth view of the contemporary supply chain, detailing its evolution in response to changing industrial demands and advancements in technology. The foundational concepts of the supply chain and its significance in modern business, the transformation of supply chain practices with the advent of Industry 4.0 and digital tools, real-world examples illustrating how technology has streamlined procurement, logistics, and inventory management were discussed in the session. His insightful talk captivated the audience, particularly students eager to understand the dynamics of supply chain management in the digital age.

A unique segment of the seminar featured AUST students currently working at bKash Limited, who shared their experiences and career journeys. They highlighted how their academic learnings helped them adapt to real-world challenges in supply chain management. The event concluded with a vibrant questionnaire session, where students posed thoughtful questions to the keynote speaker and panelists. Queries ranged from the integration of AI in supply chains to strategies for managing disruptions in a globalized economy. The session provided clarity on various aspects, leaving the participants with actionable insights and a deeper understanding of the field.
