Kazi Fazlur Rahman Library

The KFR Library organized an Information Literacy Session on July 30, 2025, at Room No. 8C03 (MPE Drawing Lab) for the students of MPE Level 4/1 & 4/2. The session was conducted by Dr. Md. Zillur Rahman, Librarian, Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST).

Dr. Rahman delivered an engaging lecture on the resources and services of the KFR Library. The session was divided into two parts:

1. Theoretical Overview – Dr. Rahman introduced various sources of information and explained how and where students could access them effectively.
2. Virtual Tour – He guided the students through the physical and digital resources of the library, demonstrating how to locate materials efficiently.

During the session, special emphasis was given to the use of reference management tools such as Mendeley and Zotero, along with the application of the Turnitin Plagiarism Checker. He also demonstrated catalogue searching on the Koha database to help students navigate resources more efficiently.

The overall objective of the session was to raise awareness and build students’ capacity to utilize both digital and print resources in support of their research and academic activities.

Following the presentation, an interactive Q&A session was held, where students shared feedback and clarified their queries. The program concluded on a positive note, with students expressing appreciation for the valuable insights, and the librarian highlighting the importance of continued engagement with library resources.
