Department of Textile Engineering, AUST, has been collaborating through a MoU with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH (GIZ) on a project named “Digital Skills to Succeed in Asia.” As part of this project, a student (Venessa Kaiser; ID: 20220211002) from AUST, currently doing a Master's in the Department of Architecture, was selected jointly by AUST and GIZ to attend the GIZ India’s DS2S Spring School 2025 Program.
The Spring School 2025 was jointly organized by the Alexander von Humboldt Institute for Internet and Society (HIIG), GIZ (Germany, India, Bangladesh, Vietnam), German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), and Centre for Innovation & Entrepreneurship, Jamia Millia Islamia University, New Delhi. The event brought together 23 female students from GIZ’s partner universities across Bangladesh, Germany, India, and Vietnam, creating an incredible interdisciplinary and international collaboration space.
The Spring School 2025 program started on February 17, 2025, at Jamia Millia Islamia University, New Delhi. The program was four days long, packed with brain-storming sessions and different engaging activities. Among the activities, one was workshops & masterclasses on AI, digital transformation, gender equality, and the future of work, reflecting valuable insights from industry leaders. Then, on team collaboration where, our student served as the Scrum Master for her group, leading discussions and refining their pitch for AI Act, an AI-driven platform focused on assessing safety, functionality, and well-being in built environments. The present students got much industry exposure as they visited Nasscom and attended a masterclass on AI applications. This program became a hub of networking & cross-cultural Learning as Venessa connected with inspiring women from Bangladesh, Germany, India, and Vietnam, exchanging ideas on AI’s role in workplace innovation and women’s empowerment. There was also an exciting pitch presentation where different teams presented the AI Act during the Closing Ceremony on February 20, 2025, showcasing innovative AI-based solutions to real-world challenges.
Venessa shares her experience:
“The Spring School 2025 was not just a learning platform but also a testament to the strong and growing collaboration between GIZ and its international partners. It underscored the importance of global governance, digital transformation, and gender equality in shaping the future of work.
For the participants, this experience was an eye-opener, instilling a deeper understanding of AI’s role in shaping tomorrow’s workforce and empowering women to lead in the technological revolution. As Ai continues to evolve, the insights and connections gained from this experience will play a crucial role in its journey toward creating safer, smarter, and more inclusive spaces worldwide.”
