Dr. A.K.M. Mobarok Hossain, Associate Professor of the Department of Textile Engineering and Assistant Proctor of the university presented his research titled “Knitted fabric defects: An analytical study on the knitting floor of a large circular weft knitting factory of Bangladesh” at the 51st congress of IFKT (International Federation of Knitting Technologists) . He was also nominated as a speaker of this prestigious conference. The IFKT Conference 2024–Future of Knitting was held at Cyril Clark Theatre in Brampton, Ontario, Canada on 21-22 August through a hybrid mode (both face to face as well as virtually). The IFKT Congress provides an opportunity for both researchers, practitioners, and others to exchange new ideas and practical experiences from a diverse range of knitting expertise who are engaged in this unique and close-knit industry. In the conference a total of 12 research papers were selected for presentation and world famous knitting experts like Alenka Pavko Čuden, Marcus O Weber, Alison Gault and many others joined there and presented their research works. This international congress also got good media coverage by world famous Textile News portals.
