Overview

The Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST) is committed to ensuring that all students, faculty, staff, and visitors are prepared to respond effectively in case of emergencies. Emergency preparedness covers fire safety, disaster readiness, earthquake response, and medical support systems on campus.

The Campus Safety framework at Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST) is built on three complementary pillars to ensure a safe and secure environment for all students, staff, and visitors. The Campus Safety Task Force (CSTF), formed in 2024 with members from across departments, plays a central role in reviewing and implementing safety practices, conducting training, disseminating lab and accreditation-related safety guidelines, and initiating comprehensive fire safety measures, including the establishment of the Fire/Disaster Safety Team. The Fire/Disaster Safety Team was created under CSTF initiatives to strengthen emergency preparedness, coordinate fire drills, and liaise with the Fire Service and Civil Defence for compliance and operational readiness. Complementing these efforts, the Assistant Director (Campus Safety and Logistic Supports), Directorate of Planning & Development—a newly designated position—oversees the University Engineer’s operations to maintain campus infrastructure, supervises safety-related logistics, and directly collaborates with CSTF and other offices to implement safety protocols and emergency initiatives . Together, these three entities ensure that campus safety at AUST is institutionalized, proactive, and continuously evolving toward best practices.
