The Department of Architecture of Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST) proudly inaugurated its new Printing and Model Making Lab on Sunday, 25th January 2026, marking a significant milestone in strengthening architectural education and hands-on learning facilities at the university.

The laboratory was formally inaugurated by the Honorable Vice Chancellor of AUST, Prof. Dr. Md. Ashraful Hoque, in the esteemed presence of the Acting Pro Vice Chancellor and Treasurer, Prof. Dr. Sharmin Reza Chowdhury. The initiative to establish the lab was taken by the Head of the Department of Architecture, Dr. G. M. A. Balayet Hossain, who played a key role in arranging and setting up the facility in Room No. 3C06.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Dean of the Department of Architecture and Planning, faculty members, and a large number of students from the Department of Architecture. The event was organized with the active involvement of the AUST Architecture Society (ASA), reflecting strong student-faculty collaboration. The session was smoothly conducted by two faculty members, Md. Iftekhar Rashid and Shahriar Mahmud.

The newly established lab is envisioned as a future-focused learning hub that will significantly enhance academic and practical training for architecture students. In the near future, the facility will provide advanced technological support through 3D printing, laser cutting, and plotter machine services, enabling students to develop precise architectural models, prototypes, and presentation materials.

This initiative stands as a progressive step toward integrating digital fabrication and model-making technologies into architectural education at AUST, reinforcing the university’s commitment to innovation, quality education, and student-centered learning.
