With the growing population in urban areas the growth of building construction industry is significant in 21st century world. To optimize the cost and for proper management, Project Management has become a crying need of time. Construction Project Management (CM) is a widely flourishing industry for architects, engineers and correlated professionals now a days. The Department of Architecture, AUST has recently organized a seminar on Project Management titled as "Project Management - Breaking The Ice" on 15th July, 2018 at its own campus. Ar. Dr. Khurshid Almeher was the invited key speaker in the seminar.
Dr. Khurshid Almeher is the founder and CEO of Kaymonto and Partners, which is one of the earliest project management establishment in Bangladesh. After completing his Ph.D and a few years of professional experience from Japan, Dr. Khurshid returned to Bangladesh and started his own consultancy firm. He enlightened the insight of project management for the emerging professionals, teachers and students.
In the presentation Dr. Khurshid framed up the insight of Project Management and how it works. He shared from his personal experience that it seems to be a lack of project management in the market. He depicted how the framework of project management works and how it is relevant to the architects.
The seminar is accompanied by the faculty members of the Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST) and students from the Department of Architecture. Followed by the presentation, Professor. Dr. Jasmin Ara Begum, Head of The Department of Architecture awarded the speaker with the crest and the audience precipitated in the discussion session. The seminar was organized by the seminar and workshop organizing committee of the Department of Architecture, volunteered by Ar. Kristaz, Ar. Ishrat, Ar. Arafat, Ar. Aurnob, Ar. Shafique and moderated by Prof. Dr. Shehzad Zahir.
