A seminar on "BORDER URBANISM" by Dr. Quazi Mahtab Zaman

The department of Architecture, AUST, has arranged a seminar titled "Border Urbanism" on 3 July 2022, Sunday at the Exhibition and Jury Space of AUST. The seminar was presented by Dr. Quazi Mahtab Zaman, Convenor and Editor: URBANISM AT BORDERS Global Research Group at Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, and External Examiner, Ph.D. at Informal Urbanism Research Hub, University of Melbourne, Australia. He is currently investigating the discourse of 'Urbanism at Borders' and its connections to architecture and urban design disciplines by partnering with a team of 35 global academics and researchers interested in collaboration. This culminated in the first conference and research partnership building through 'Urbanism at Borders' 2018, in Aberdeen, Scotland, from 5-7 September 2018, and 23-25 October 2019 in Malaga, Spain. The seminar generated discussions among notable faculty members and students from the Department of Architecture. Dr. Jasmin Ara Begum, Professor & Dean, and Dr. Rumana Rashid, Professor & Head, honored the presenters with crest. Prof. Dr. Rumana Rashid, Head of the Department of Architecture, AUST, appreciated the initiative of the Seminar and Workshop Organizing Committee in arranging the series of seminars, and she encouraged the speaker in her inspiring concluding speech. The seminar was believed to encourage the student participants to integrate nature into their academic studio projects. The seminar and Workshop organizing committee conducted the seminar; the committee members were Ar. Naimul Aziz, Ar. S. M. Arafat Hossain, Ar. Farjana Rahman, Ar. Ishrat Momtaz Badhon.
