The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST) organized a seminar titled "The Journey of Health Tech: Challenges, Innovations, and Successes." held on 08 July 2024 (Monday) from 04:00 PM to 5:00 PM in the VC Seminar Room.
The seminar featured Mr. Anisul Haque, the esteemed Chairman of Tech Terrain IT Limited and a proud alumnus of AUST's 14th batch. Mr. Haque's insightful presentation shared the transformative journey of implementing REHAB HIS at CRP. He addressed the challenges encountered and the innovative solutions that revolutionized healthcare delivery. Attendees were undoubtedly inspired by real-life case studies showcasing the remarkable successes achieved in patient care through REHAB HIS. This event provided a valuable opportunity to learn from a leader in the field, and perhaps even sparked an interest in future collaborations with Mr. Haque and Tech Terrain IT Limited.
The seminar started with Mr. Haque outlining the current state of healthcare tech in Bangladesh, highlighting the vast potential for improvement. He then dove into his innovative REHAB HIS information system, demonstrating its information management capabilities and its ability to streamline data for thousands of users. The presentation showcased the impressive portability of the system, further emphasizing its accessibility. Mr. Haque didn't stop there, he went on to explain how his system facilitates real-time data access for both domestic and foreign researchers, fostering collaboration and progress. His passion for the field was evident as he concluded by extending a warm invitation to seminar attendees, offering any data-related help they might require.
The special event was hosted by Prof. Dr. Md. Shamim Akhter, Professor of the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) Department at AUST. With great insight, he discussed the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act (HITECH) initiatives of the USA to improve healthcare quality and efficiency through the promotion of health IT. He also highlighted the significance of monetary transparency in the healthcare industry. After discussing in a brief about the policies, he emphasized the need for data protection, the implementation of safeguards, and the potential of data analytics for vital decision-making. He cited future health technologies including robotics, nanotechnology, wearable technology, and customer-driven healthcare software.
Prof. Akhter applauded the guest speaker's initiative for including this financial transparency element in their information system and recognized their contribution to the area. He further commented on the famous speaker's outstanding achievements, drawing the seminar attendees' attention to the usage and application of the speaker's expertise. The session concluded with a lively Q&A session, where Mr. Haque skillfully addressed a variety of questions, leaving the audience with a wealth of knowledge and inspiration.
Prof. Dr. Md. Shahriar Mahbub, the Professor and Head of the CSE Department, and other faculty members attended the seminar and provided valuable insights to the participants. Dr. Shahriar's closing speech thanked Mr. Anisul for generously sharing his time and knowledge. He praised the seminar committee's support and commended the students' active participation. Finally, a gesture of appreciation was handed over to the keynote speaker.
