AUST CSE Society Celebrates "CSE Week 2018"


Computer Science and Engineering Society (CSES) organized an Intra AUST Tech Contest, entitled RAPOO CodeWare'18 on CSE Week from 7th July to 14th July, 2018, at Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST) premises. The week-long program included Programming Contest, Project Showcase, Quiz Contest and Seminar.

The week started with Intra AUST Programming Contest followed by an inauguration ceremony. Professor Dr. Kazi Shariful Alam, the Treasurer of the university inaugurated the week along with Dr. Kazi A Kalpoma, Professor & Head of the department, Professor Dr. S.M. Abdullah Al - Mamun and other faculty members and students of the department. Total 52 teams participated in the Programming Contest who were selected by a preliminary contest held on 3rd July.

Intra AUST Project Show was held on 9th July which had both Hardware and Software Categories. The day long program included an exciting Line Follower Robot (LFR) Race. The judge panel consisted of faculty members of the university. About 50 teams of different departments showcased their projects during the event. Mr. Kazi Rafiqul Alam, the honorable Chairman, Board of Trustees (BoT), AUST and among others Vice-Chancellor, Treasurer, Dean and Head of CSE encouraged the participants.

In order to motivate the students by sharing experiences of the people working in IT industry Coders Trust, a seminar on "Android App Development and Next Scopes for Bangladesh in ICT" was held on 9th July. The week-long program also included a quiz contest which was held in four stages on 8th, 10th and 11th July.

The eventful week came to an end with a closing ceremony on 14th July. Professor Dr. A.M.M. Safiullah, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Kazi Shariful Alam, the Treasurer of the University were present in the ceremony as the chief guest and the special guest respectively. The program was chaired by Dr. Kazi A Kalpoma, the President of CSE Society and Professor & Head of the department of Computer Science and Engineering. Prof. Dr. Abdur Rahim Mollah, the Dean of the faculty of Engineering and Prof. Dr. S. M. Abdullah Al-Mamun, the Ex-President of AUST CSE Society were also present as the guests of honor.

Marks Young Star, ADATA, Enosis, Computer Services, and AUST Photography Club were the sponsors and Bangla Vision, Bangla Tribune and Daily Sun are the media partners of the event.
