Raqeebir Rab assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and Anonnya Ghosh, a student of the same department, won the IEEE Bangladesh Section (BDS) best paper award at the 25th International Conference on Computer and Information Technology (ICCIT, 2022), which was held at the Long Beach Hotel in Cox's Bazar from December 17 to 19, 2022. Their research paper, "Transfer Learning Based Facial Emotion Detection for Animated Characters," was supervised by Raqeebir Rab an assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology. The primary objective of this research article is to anticipate seven facial expressions of animated characters, including Anger, Disgust, Fear, Joy, Neutral, Sorrow, and Surprise. To facilitate the study, a new dataset was compiled.
