On Friday, September 19, 2025, 20 students from the 4th year, 2nd semester of the AUST CSE 47th Batch, Department of CSE, AUST, visited Cefalo Bangladesh Limited to explore the dynamics of Bangladesh's competitive and rapidly growing software industry.
Cefalo is a Norwegian company that specializes in helping Norwegian businesses hire full-time, premium software developers for long-term roles from their offices in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Established in 2010, the company has grown to employ over 300 professionals.
The students had the opportunity to interact with Mr. Ferdous Mahmud Shaon, Managing Director at Cefalo, who provided valuable insights into the smart world and offered guidance on achieving success as a software engineer, a researcher, or a specialist. Additionally, Mr. Simanta Deb Turja, Senior Software Engineer; Mr. Saiful Haque Pranta, Associate Executive HR; Ali Ahnaf, Software Engineer; and Shoaib Ahmed, Software Engineer, actively participated in the interactive session and shared numerous useful guidelines.
The students gained valuable insights into key areas such as Software Development, Quality Assurance, and Testing, along with a deeper understanding of their relevance both now and in the future. Industry experts shared practical advice on navigating recruitment processes and building successful careers. Additionally, an engaging Q&A session offered clarity on a range of topics, including essential skills, career progression, and more. The visit not only inspired students with the engineers' insightful perspectives but also motivated them by showcasing the company’s state-of-the-art infrastructure, encouraging them to aim high and envision similar success and comfort in their future careers.
The seamless implementation of the program was guided by Mr. Al Hasib Mahamud (Lecturer, CSE, AUST) and Mr. Mustofa Ahmed (Lecturer, CSE, AUST). Such industrial visits not only deepen the students' understanding of their discipline but also motivate them to remain committed and focused on achieving their aspirations.
