AHSANULLAH UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY

Department of

Computer Science and Engineering

About

Department of Computer Science and Engineering has been playing an important role in the functioning of the university with a good reputation and has been retaining its position as one of the leading departments of the university since its establishment in the year 1995.

The department has by now established itself as a noteworthy center of education and training through its Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Engineering program. With nearly 4000 graduates up to the Fall-2025 semester, the department had numerous colorful moments and occasions for celebration.  Many of its graduates complete their postgraduate studies with brilliant performances at renowned national and foreign universities and are employed in prestigious institutions and organizations in the country and overseas.

The department has seven computer labs and one digital electronics lab of its own which are equipped with state-of-the-art computers and experimental setups. Yearly intake of the department in two semesters is around 300 students. A good number of mostly young and enthusiastic full-time faculty members (around 40 in number during last few semesters, for example) with the best available exposure to the ever-growing horizon of the field bear almost the whole of the teaching load of our intensive curriculum. Besides, several experienced teachers from other universities and industrial establishments are appointed in each semester to conduct some specialized courses.

Various co-curricular and extra-curricular activities to develop important professional and social faculties in the students also stand firmly in the list of activities of the department every semester. The most common activities are programming and ICT contests, project-thesis presentation, indoor and outdoor games, reception parties to fresh and farewell parties for outgoing students, etc. The performance of our students in various national contests on co-curricular activities is noteworthy.
