Civil Engineering

The Department of Civil Engineering, AUST, established in 1995, has made significant progress over the past three decades and is presently recognized as one of the leading departments of the university as well as the country. To celebrate the completion of 30 years of the Department, on 11 January 2026, the AUST Civil Engineering Society (ACES) successfully organized a cake-cutting ceremony at Badam Tola, AUST Campus. The honorable Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Ashraful Hoque, Treasurer Prof. Dr. Sharmin Reza Chowdhury, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Prof. Dr. Md. Abdul Matin, and Head of the Department Prof. Dr. Md. Shahid Mamun graciously attended to the occasion. Additionally, faculty members of Civil Engineering, Head of other Departments, alumni, and current students of the department attended the event, making it a memorable and inclusive gathering. The former department heads and faculty members received special recognition for their visionary leadership and academic commitment, which established the foundation for the department’s growth and reputation. Senior faculty members highlighted key milestones of the department, while also expressing a forward-looking vision focused on academic excellence, innovation, as well as societal impact.
