Civil Engineering

As per the invitation from Maxcrete Limited, the faculty members of the Department of Civil Engineering, AUST visited their factory of Maxcrete Limited at Jagir, Manikganj, Bangladesh on April 26, 2025. Prof. Dr. Sharmin Reza Chowdhury, Honorable Treasurer, AUST, Prof. Dr. Md. Mahmudur Rahman, Dean, Faculty of Engineering, AUST and Prof. Dr. Md. Shahid Mamun, Head, Department of Civil Engineering, AUST were also attended the visit along with the honorable faculty members of the Department of Civil Engineering, AUST.

The faculty members arrived at Maxcrete Limited at Jagir, Manikganj, Bangladesh, where they were warmly welcomed by the Alumni Engr. Abu Mohammad Samsuddin, Assistant General Manager, Sales and Marketing and others from Maxcrete Limited.

The faculty members started their factory visit to Maxcrete Limited, where they were given an in-depth technical presentation on AAC Block by Prof. Dr. Raquib Ahsan, Department of Civil Engineering, BUET where he was the invited guest speaker from Maxcrete Limited. After the technical presentation, the faculty members visited the AAC Block factory and water treatment plant of Maxcrete Limited specially their raw material storage unit, dosing and mixing unit, precuring area, vertical cutting unit, autoclaving unit, unloading and packing unit which provided them with a deeper understanding of the various production procedures of AAC Block. In addition, the faculty members also visited their laboratory and quality control unit of Maxcrete Limited.

After a lunch break, the faculty members participated in a farewell program. During this program, the Max Group handed over gifts to the faculty members of the Department. After that the Head of the Department handed over crests to Engr. Ghulam Mohammed Alomgir, Chairman, Max Group, Mohammed Zulkernine, Director, Max Group and Samiul Islam, Executive Director, Max Group as a token of appreciation for their support and hospitality throughout the visit.

The visit at the Maxcrete factory was an incredibly enriching experience for the faculty members of Department of Civil Engineering, Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST). The faculty members learned about the various aspects of construction and gained practical knowledge of the process.
