Study Tour at Jamuna Bridge Railway Project


AUST Civil Engineering Society (ACES) organized a Study Tour at Jamuna Bridge Railway Project on August 27, 2022. The students of the 4th year 2nd semester of the Department of Civil Engineering of AUST went there to gain technical knowledge, and practical experience from that renowned project. Many graduates from Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST) is working there with respect and they coordinated very well for the successful completion of the study tour. A total 130 students along with some honorable faculty members of the Department of Civil Engineering of AUST visited that project.

The moderator of the tour was Mr. Md. Tanvirul Islam, Chief Engineer, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Railway Bridge Construction Project (BSMRBCP). The study tour was divided into several segments. Firstly, Ms. Sadia Afroze, Deputy Director (Bridge), BSMRBCP, BR and her team welcomed the guests and distributed the ID cards. In the first segment, the power point presentation was delivered by Md. Masudur Rahman, Project Director, BSMRBCP, BR and his team. Then the question answer session was conducted. After that, inspection of ongoing works was conducted by three teams. Mr. Md. Tanvirul Islam, Chief Engineer, BSMRBCP, BR was leading the Team 1; Ms. Sadia Afroze, Deputy Director (Bridge), BSMRBCP, BR was leading the Team 2 and Mr. Mohammad Ali, Substructure Engineer-3, Consultant for BSMRBCP, BR was leading the Team 3. There were also arrangement of light breakfast and lunch for guests.
